Call for Papers for the D-A-CH+ Conference on Energy Informatics 2017 in Lugano (Feb. 2017)February 23rd, 2017
The 6th D-A-CH+ Conference on Energy Informatics will be held in Lugano, Switzerland, on October 5-6 2017.
The objective of the D-A-CH+ conference series on Energy Informatics is to promote the research, development, and implementation of information and communication technologies in the energy domain and to foster the exchange between academia, industry, and service providers in the German-Austrian-Swiss region and its neighboring countries (D-A-CH+).
The Energy Informatics conference series is a joint initiative of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (http://www.smartgrids-dach.eu) and is also supported by the Swiss Informatics Society.
“Conscientious Showerers Take Shorter Showers” – recent article available on Swiss Federal Office of Energy-Homepage (Feb. 2017)February 07th, 2017
Conscientious Showerers Take Shorter Showers
People who track the amount of water and energy consumed during showers, thanks to a ‘live’ display on the shower head, shower sparingly. This is the main thrust of an empirical study by Dr. Verena Tiefenbeck at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. The study has implications beyond the actual subject matter: it supports the assumption that real-time feedback can make a significant contribution to more economical energy use.

The Canadian program “Tools of Change” has designated our study with ewz as “Landmark (best practice) case study” (Nov. 2016)November 24th, 2016
ETH Zurich’s Shower Feedback Pilot Receives International Distinction
ETH Zurich’s Shower Feedback Pilot has just received an international distinction – designation as a “Landmark” (best practice) case study through Tools of Change’s peer review process. The peer review panel found that the approach used in the pilot was a highly replicable and innovative one that yields impressive results (a 22% savings in water and energy use compared to a control group).
This year’s panelists included a member from an on-the-ground program as well as from some of North America’s most proactive consulting, NGO, and government organizations supporting energy conservation professionals. They include Arien Korteland from BC Hydro, Doug McKenzie-Mohr of McKenzie-Mohr Associates, Brian Smith from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Marsha Walton from the New York State Energy, Research and Development Authority and Dan York of ACEEE.

Article on energy consulting using smart algorithms published in “success stories” of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (Sep. 2016)November 09th, 2016
Electricity consumers receiving personalized consulting services can significantly reduce their consumption. However, the identification of consumers with high demand and potentially large reduction potential is a challenging task.
Our team at ETH Zurich and the University of Bamberg designed an algorithm, which allows to identify consumers with high demand by processing their smart meter data. The algorithm provides consumers with personalized energy-saving tips and helps them to reduce their consumption.
More details of this research project can be found in the publication of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE).

Once customers realised serious problems with speeds, Kingston claim that there isn any change, but in fact they switched to another slower NAND. That why they are now saying PR like Kingston is not a semiconductor and availability is ever changing, we may need to source NAND Flash from other suppliers whenever there are generational changes problem with Kingston is, they aren Silicon manufacturer and as b brand they have to buy NAND from real NAND manufacturers like Micron, Samsung, Toshiba and therefore they will never be able match reliability and quality of Crucial/Micron or Samsung which do all under one roof and use their premium NAND for own SSDs Cheap Jerseys from china.
